In 2005, ABC purchased the Horne’s Supermarket building located on Main Street in Lattimore. Jack and Sarah Horne had this little store for many years, and it was a landmark in the community. When you drive through our small town, you cannot help but notice something is happening at the old Horne’s building. What is it?
This summer, the college is putting a new roof on the building in preparation for a future project. In the days to come, new trusses, plywood, shingles and a 1000 square foot awning will be put on this old landmark. When completed, the roof will provide a dry shelter for 5,000 square feet and allow the college to begin work on . . . relocating the Kennedy Library!
The roof project is estimated to cost $130,000. At the Spring Bible Conference, more than $10,000 was received in the offering and another $50,000 was pledged for the project. The goal is to have the new roof ready by August 1st so we can begin renovating the space for the new library.
Keep an eye on the college’s Facebook and Instagram pages to see our progress. If you would like to help with this roof replacement to pave the way for the new library, you may do so at https://www.ambassadors.edu/give.
(Local residents will be pleased to know that the old bell on top of the building has been removed and donated to the Lattimore Historical Society so it can be relocated in town.)
