Ambassador Baptist College is happy to open the 2024-25 year on Wednesday, August 21. Here is a preview of events for the opening week.
Monday, August 19
New Student Registration (beginning at 8 am)
Beginning at 8 am in the Torrey Auditorium, the new students will meet with the Academic Dean to review the registration process. Before the day is finished, the student will meet with an advisor, take necessary placement exams and evaluations, and stop by the finance office.
Buiter Library Ribbon Cutting (11:30 am)
Our college family and special guests will gather in front of the new Buiter Library to celebrate God’s provision and to reflect on His goodness. After the ceremony, all in attendance are invited to see this new facility.
American Legion World Series Baseball Game (leave campus at 6 pm)
The entire student body will make the trip to Shelby, NC to watch the semifinals of the American Legion World Series. This event is a highlight of Cleveland County and will provide some fun before the school year starts.
Tuesday, August 20
Returning Student Registration (begins at 8 am)
Returning students will confirm their class schedules for the new year with the Academic Dean.
New Student Orientation (begins at 8 am)
All new students will meet with the Dean of Students Office in the auditorium to review the college handbook.
Pastor’s Meet and Greet Picnic (5 pm)
After a dinner on the grounds with all the fixings, our students will meet with area pastors in the Paul Levin Activity Center to start their prayerful decision-making for a local church for the year.
Wednesday, August 21
First Day of Classes
The 2024-25 school year begins with the 7 am classes in Childs Hall! Evangelist Paul Crow will be preaching in the 10 am opening chapel service.
Friday, August 23
Memorial Service for Dr. Ernest Childs (3 pm)
A special memorial service for founding faculty member Dr. Ernest Childs will be held in the R.A. Torrey Auditorium. Several men will be speaking at this special service to acknowledge Dr. Childs ministry and legacy. A meal will be served after the service for all who attend.
League Draft (8 pm)
New students will be drafted into one of the student leagues: Watchmen, Knights, or Patriots. These student groups compete in intramural sports throughout the year and conduct a student body chapel service at the end of each semester. Activities for the evening will include members being decked out in league colors and celebrations to welcome new members.
