PT101.05: The Preacher and His Ministry 1A 0.5 credit hours

The Preacher and His Ministry course is designed to deal with contemporary issues, ministerial ethics, practical problems in the ministry, and positive steps in building sound, fundamental Baptist churches. The various gifts mentioned in Ephesians 4 are emphasized, with a strong admonition to utilize those gifts in a local New Testament church. Two Preacher and His Ministry courses are taught each year on a four year-cycle. Therefore, a student will not necessarily take them in numerical order. Every male student is required to take the particular Preacher and His Ministry course offered each semester he is enrolled in Ambassador Baptist College.

PT103.1: Evangelist 1A 1 credit hour

The evangelist courses provide practical instruction for the man of God called to be a vocational evangelist. Two evangelist courses are taught each year on a four-year cycle. Therefore, a student will not necessarily take them in numerical order. The calling of an evangelist, the qualities of an evangelist, the importance of using evangelists, fallacies of ecumenical evangelism, platform manners, and management.

PT104.1: Evangelist 1B 1 credit hour

The evangelist courses provide practical instruction for the man of God called to be a vocational evangelist. Two evangelist courses are taught each year on a four-year cycle. Therefore, a student will not necessarily take them in numerical order. Scripture memory, the doctrine of separation, creating a preaching atmosphere, preparation for revival, and revival.

PT430.6: Second Man Internship 6 credit hours

The student spends a minimum of eight weeks (320 hours) in the employ of an approved local church under the direct supervision of the pastor of that church, at which time the student will observe and participate in the pastoral ministry as an assistant pastor.

PT440.6: Missionary Internship 6 credit hours

The student spends a minimum of eight weeks (320 hours) on the mission field working with an approved missionary under the direct supervision of that missionary, at which time the student will observe and participate in the ministry of that missionary.

PT450.6: Music Internship 6 credit hours

The student spends a minimum of eight weeks (320 hours) in the employ of an approved local church under the direction of the pastor and/or music director of that church, at which time the student will observe and participate in the total ministry of the church with particular emphasis on the musical ministry.

PT470.6: Student Teaching Internship 6 credit hours

This is an eight-week period of observation and teaching in the classroom under the supervision of the college faculty and administrator and classroom teacher of an approved Christian elementary school. Prerequisite: senior standing, completion of required courses for the degree in elementary education.

PT307.3: Homiletics 3 credit hours

An introductory study of the preparation and delivery of sermons with special emphasis on types, content, and sources of material for sermons. Classroom presentation is required, with constructive criticism given. Prerequisite: GE 214.3 or equivalent.
