GE201.2: Office Practices, Procedures, and Equipment I 2 credit hours

Training designed to enable a secretary to operate a highly efficient, productive church office. Office ethics, duties, dress, etc. appropriate in a church or Christian school office are presented, along with instruction and drill in the operation of basic business machines. Prerequisite: GE 105.2 or equivalent.

GE202.2: Office Practices, Procedures, and Equipment II 2 credit hours

GE203.2: Office Publications 2 credit hours

A course designed to provide basic instruction in creating office publications such as slideshows, bulletins, flyers, and basic desktop publishing. Upon completion, students should be able to create and produce professional business publications. Course fee required.

GE208.2: Spreadsheet 2 credit hours

A course providing detailed instruction in the principles of electronic spreadsheets. The student will learn about designing and building mathematical spreadsheets and data query requests, creating graphs, and printing. Emphasis will be placed on the application of spreadsheets in the operation of the local church ministry. Prerequisite: GE 108.3 or equivalent. Course fee required.

GE211.1: Sign Language Practice 1 credit hour

A course intended to give the student practice in receptive and expressive sign language skills. It will build on the receptive finger-spelling, as well as reverse interpreting from sign language to voice. Also included are English idioms and idiomatic expressions. Prerequisite: GE 112.2 or equivalent.

GE214.3: Speech 3 credit hours

A study of the basic principles and techniques of public speaking, including the preparation and delivery of various types of speeches.

GE111.2: Introduction to Sign Language 2 credit hours

Gives the student a basic working knowledge of the deaf sign language and the ability to communicate individually and collectively before groups. Ability to sign hymns and messages as a ministry in local churches is the ultimate goal.

GE120.3: English Composition 3 credit hours

A continuation of the use of the basic skills in formulating fresh expression in written communication, wide use of effective vocabulary, and practice in thesis writing. Prerequisite: GE 110.3 or English Placement Test score showing that GE 110.3 is waived.

GE101.1: Financial Management 1 credit hour

A course designed to introduce the student to the Biblical principles of finances. The course will cover such matters as achieving financial freedom and developing a Biblical value system, family finances, budgets, and church finances.

GE102.1: Logic 1 credit hour

An introduction to logical argumentation, intended to teach the student how to identify the fallacies of logic in the oral and written presentations of others and to avoid those same fallacies in his own presentations.
