ED421.2: Teaching Music in the Elementary School 2 credit hours

A study of the methods and materials for the elementary school music classroom. The organization of the music curriculum by the classroom teacher will be stressed. Published sources of music teaching methods will be utilized, in conjunction with the development of the teacher’s own creative skills. Song repertoire, basic music fundamentals, and instruments unique to children’s skills will be introduced. The student will be introduced to a Biblical philosophy of music, with a view toward correct practice in his ministry.
