Auditorium Construction Is Finished!
The Administration Building remodeling project is complete at Ambassador Baptist College. During Commencement week, alumnus Jake D’Andrea led the maintenance department in ripping out floors and laying carpet. By Friday night, two classrooms were completed, and another one was well on its way.
The day after Commencement (Saturday), a crew came and removed more than 40 pews from the auditorium to prepare for the work to begin on Monday. By Monday evening, the staff had ripped up all of the carpet and half of the old wood flooring. In the following days, drywall was put up, new subflooring was put down, paint went on the walls, and new carpet was installed.
After the carpet was completed, sound treatment panels were installed on the walls to enhance the performance of the sound system. The pew sections were moved back into the auditorium and reassembled. Sheer curtains were placed on the windows, the new pulpit was delivered, and everything was ready for Landmark Conference.
After Landmark Conference, new speakers were installed in the auditorium, and a few other components of the sound system were replaced or upgraded. The faculty and staff who were present were treated to a demonstration of the new speaker system with a recorded presentation of the 1812 Overture.
During Opening Revival week, lettering spelling out “Now then we are Ambassadors for Christ” was delivered and installed on the front wall of the auditorium behind the choir loft. New drapes have been ordered and installed, and the construction project is finally complete.
A special thanks goes out to work groups from Grace Baptist Church in West Columbia, SC, and Immanuel Baptist Church in Clifton Forge, VA, for sending crews to help with this project. Special thanks also to the ABC Alumni Association for the donation of the new pulpit.
We praise the Lord for all the gifts that were given towards this project. The entire cost of the project has been provided through donations, so that the remodeling has been completed debt-free. We thank everyone who shared in the cost of this project, everyone who shared in the labor, and everyone who labored for us in prayer during this summer.
