Camp Barnabas Report

Nearly ninety campers plus sponsors and counselors enjoyed a tremendous week at Camp Barnabas. Teens from fifteen states and thirty-one local churches came together for a week of great preaching, spirited singing, and a lifetime of memories. In addition to the camp chapel services with Evangelist David Cajiuat, campers were able to hear preaching from Evangelist Morris Gleiser and Pastor Mike West in the Landmark Conference services. They also had the chance to hear from youth pastors, pastors, pastor?s wives, and faculty members during ministry and music workshop sessions. The camp choir provided special music each evening, adding a special touch to the services.

Campers participated in three-way baseball, water balloon slingshot, human bowling, and a number of other activities in the afternoons, while free time activities, mail call, and Bible quizzing kept them busy after the evening services. Throughout the week, over 2,300 memory verses were quoted by the campers. More than a dozen said fifty or more verses, and three campers said all 100 verses plus an additional six bonus passages of 8-10 verses each! The Reapers team won the points competition for the week, in large part due to having said over 300 more verses than the Sowers. One camper was saved, and at least fifteen teens gave public testimony to having dedicated their lives to the Lord for full-time service or a particular area of service this week!

We thank the Lord for these young people whose hearts were tender towards the Word of God. Messages from the week are available for listening or download here.

Camp Barnabas is open to young people entering seventh grade through entering college. Make plans now to attend Camp Barnabas next year—July 15–19—with Evangelist Richard Harper as the camp speaker!
